how do i copy my ps2 games to my ps3 hard drive and play them off of my ps3 hard drive? im not pirating i just want a back up of the ps2 games.

I don't think you can.
You can't copy an actual PS2 game onto the PS3's hard drive. Right now on the Playstation store there are Classic PS1 games for download that will be downloaded directly to the PS3's hard drive. In the future Sony might add some PS2 downloadable games on the Playstation Store.
