How do you downgrade a TA-0082 PSP running Sony3.80 firmware using a Pandora Battery?

I am a complete newbie to all this stuff. I have been told (thanks titan) that to downgrade, I need to use a Pandora Battery and Magic Memory Stick. What I need is a complete idiots guide to do this!! The videos I've seen about Pandora Batteries confuse me and I am totaly scared of bricking the PSP. It's my son's. He wants to use UMD Dumper2 to backup his games and wants the ability to run homebrew games and apps. Titan tells me there is a CFW3.80. I just want to run anything that will run UMD Dumper and homebrew games and not take too much away. Looking on the net, 3.40*LE is recommended but if CFW3.80 will do it, I would be happy to install it. Another worry I have is that I have read that TA-0082's do not like running 1.50 and modifications have to be made??? I take it my son has a TA-0082 as inside his UMD door you can see IC1003 stamped on the motherboard. Anyone who has time to help a complete idiot would be welcomed!!!

  1. You can buy a Max Power (Datel) Battery Tool that acts like a Pandora battery, about £15 on Amazon Uk as well as a spare memory stick at least 512mb. I'm certain the Battery Tool does most of it for you, however there are forums dedicated to homebrew ect that can advise you better, try Google.
  2. Right off, you arent a complete idiot, because a complete idiot would give you 0 detail. Youve at least taken the time to look things up and your question wasnt just "How do i downgrade a psp?" When it comes to the pandora battery, motherboards do not matter. All pandora apps have built in patchers for ta-082mbs, and when it is running, you will be prompted to patch it. Having a ta-082mb you are on a fat psp, therefore you have a few more options then the slim. 3.40le is an ancient firmware. Since then 3.50m33 3.51m33 3.52m33 3.70m33 3.71m33 3.72hx-1 3.73hx-1 3.80m33 (and this doesnt include the updates.. 3.52m33 had 4, 3.71m33 had 4, 3.80m33 had 5) On the pandora, i wrote a guide for noobs, and out of the 9,026 downloads, 8 people have contacted me for help, so its safe to say its a easy guide to follow. http://www.zshare.net/download/5554099c2452a4/ Ive included numerous ways to either downgrade or install custom firmware, and if i were you i would at least go with the slim and fat manual install. There are programs that can be used to automatically install the files on the memory stick, but because they cannot be used on all computers, they dont do some people any good. For the battery itself, if you dont know anyone with custom firmware, you will need to hardmod it. Hardmodding the battery involves opening it up and cutting a pin off a chip. (i have pictures from at least 4 different batteries in the packet)
