Backup PS Games

Can you backup games or movies on ps3 60gb? I know you can backup audio discs to the hard drive, but is it possible to copy or "backup" games or movies to the ps3?

what can i do to backup the games i downloaded from ps3 store? i need to format my ps3 hd so that i can i more data. i installed linux but found it was pointless now i need to get rid of it.

Do you think their will be a modchip that will allow you to play PS2 and Xbox 360 and wii backup games? PS2 has a modchip that allows you to play copies. The original xbox has a modchip to transfer games to harddrive. the gamecube has a viper chip that allows you to play backup games, not sure how thats done though. Will the PS3 and Xbox 360 and the wii eventually be able to play copies?

Backup PS2 Games? How can I backup PS2 games? Is there a way without modchip or swap magic, dont have a credit card and can only use stuff from stores. I hear that if you make a Pefect Copy (1:1, one-to-one) it will act like a real game, how can this be done? If I even would find a chip would it be worth it cuz why have a modded PS2 when I could get a modded PS3 that plays all those games and more, since PS2 is getting obsolete, I can play PS1 games on PSP Via Dark_AleX popstation. I hear sony is threatening modded PS3 owners though, but this if just for backup and DRM violates my rights as a consumer. I UNDERSTAND THAT PIRACY IS ILLEGAL AND AM ONLY WANTING TO BACKUP MY OWN GAMES DONT GIVE ME ANY ANWSERS ABOUT "That's illegal" or "dont pirate" backup is legal and DRM removes rights! Or is there a PS2 emualtor for Vista that runs on Dual Core 1.73 MHz, 1 GB ram that will read ISO or DVD in the drive? Isn't HD Advance the same as Swap Magic? Where can I get it, I dont have a credit card, but maybe in the future can setup paypal or money order, but I prefer stores anyways. Also with the PS3 out, is it worth it, but then again PS3 games are like 20 GB on a full Blu-Ray and that means a 60 GB HD will only hold 3 games, unless I burn but when a Blu Ray burner is $800 and a blank disk is $20 its cheaper to buy the game twice as a bacup, but why buy it twice? Wait so http://www.hdadvance.com/ is a disk I run to play games off the hard drive? Can I use any hard drive or just theirs?

PS3 is not reading game save files? I've literally tried everything I could possibly find, I've tried it all and still no results. I've put the files in this order on my flash drive PS3>SAVEDATA>Game Save Folder and I've tried PS3>EXPORT>Game save folder I've tried taking it out of the folder, I've tried adding an extra folder, I've tried multiple copies of folders, nothing seems to work to get my PS3 to read my backup game save files... To test it I downloaded a FFXII save from Gamefaqs and converted it into a .psu file and put in the EXPORT folder and what not, still comes up saying there's nothing there to be read. It can obviously read the flash drive and folders seeing as I made it show all data in the video tab and I could plainly see all the folders I've run outa ideas and I've done all I can do from what I've seen in other people's forums and questions...I just have no clue what my PS3 wants from me =/

PS3 and Alcohol 120% Backed-Up PS1 Games? I have a 40GB PS3 and I have a backup copy of a PS1 game ready to burn using Alcohol 120%. I know how to use it, but I was wondering (so I don't waste blank CDs), would my PS3 play my backups? I have the latest system update and my console is about a month old. If not, would I be able to try a swap disc method (play an original and press the PS button to reset the game, all the while swapping to the backup)?

PS3 and Yellow Dog Linux? Sony allows for third party Opperating Systems to be installed on the PS3 "Other OS". This is similare the adding the MOD Chip to the old X-Box and running the Evolution X OS. thus allowing you to copy "Backup" Games to the Hard drive. My Question, Does Yellow Dog Linux "YDL" allow for Backups to Hard drive? is there software that will runonlinuxand allow this? like Game Copy X?

How do I go to PS3 XMB from Linux or uninstall Linux from PS3 by the Linux boot screen (if possible?)? I have a problem going back to the PS3 XMB from Linux. I have tried typing "boot-game-os" and it says "Not found." I also tried holding the power button for 4-10 to reset the PS3 but that was no help. And I have no clue how to uninstall Linux from the Linux boot screen on the PS3 (if there is somehow.) Any help would be much appreciated! I really need the help! Also, I didn't backup my stuff? PS3 External Hard Drive? If i were to buy an external hard drive for my ps3 would i be able to save game, movies, music on the hard drive and play them off there too? or is it stricly a backup sorce where i would have to copy it back to the ps3 to use "said" file? i know it would be better to just buy a bigger internal but transfering the data would be a pain and this would just be easier. ok you guys dont get it. PS3 is the leading candidate, followed quickly by XBOX360 which would be stellar considering I can't afford a PS3... Yes, I know it SHOULD happen. Which console should I go for for gfx/gaming? Im looking at going for a 360 or a ps3 but not sure on which one, which one does the highest gfx output / and better games / better resolution like is the xbox360pro 1080p? also which console shows the better? and can i backup my games to a xbox360 hdd and replay later? edit - also does the elite show better gfx than the pro? ok one more thing, can the pro do 1080p output? or is it jsut the elite.
